Are you now taking notice? Are you taking them seriously? Or are we still treating their title charge as a joke? What more do Leicester have to prove the doubters that they are for real and there is at the very least a chance of doing something very special.
The smart money is definitely on Man City now. With Arsenal doing their best to secure fourth, as they want nothing to do with the title, it's all eyes on City. It's the logical bet to make. They have done it before, they have a stronger squad and when those key games come late in the season, you can always bet on City getting it done.
But Leicester City have done something amazing. We are in February right now, and Leicester are sitting right at the top of the league. This isn't November, this is the new year where we are already beyond halfway through the season. This is where the title challengers arise, not for the fakes who were temporarily floating at the top in October.
Leicester are winning, they are playing well, scoring great goals and you can feel that they want this. They are not just here to enjoy the ride, and take each game as it comes. The underdog status has been a blessing for them as while our eyes have been on City, Arsenal and United; they have been slipping under the radar, continually getting points and showing the consistency that Premiership champions show.
With that victory over Liverpool but really, that away win against Tottenham; Ranieri showed me that Leicester had to be taken seriously. They have just won key games, and shown the mentality of a team that want to be champions. And even though City should win it, especially if all their players get on their A game, Leicester have a chance. If they can just keep winning games, and capitalize when Pellegrini's boys stutter, anything can happen. Not saying Leicester definitely will...but this is football, and Greece won the Euros.
