How on Earth Did Montolivo Make the Italy Cut Ahead of Pirlo?
Am I missing something? I thought when squads are picked for tiddly-winks or professional tournaments, they are picked on merit. You know, those who you think will do the best job for you. This is so that you put yourself in the best position of winning.
So explain to me how Montolivo is in this squad? Not only has he been picked in the provisional group but he has been put in ahead of Pirlo. That same Andrea who now plys his trade in the MLS but don't let that fool you in believing he is now a lesser player than Riccardo.
In simple terms, Montolivo is garbage. He sucks. The dude can hardly make a meaningful pass, he's slow, he can't shoot and doesn't even know how to spell domination let alone do it in midfield. If he is somehow on that pitch in the summer for Italy, then it is almost a guarantee that the Italians will get overrun.
Pirlo, either dead, alive, injured or overweight is twice the player that Montolivo could ever hope to be. Quality is quality and if it's between him and Montolivo, eleven times out of ten I am choosing Pirlo. The old man can still give Italy that calm and composure in midfield with superb, accurate passing that you never lose touch of.
Conte needs to strong reconsider his position on this. First he ignores Giovinco, now he has the audacity to take the brick that is Montolivo and not put in Pirlo? Can I remind people that somehow Conte believes Montolivo can offer him more than Giovinco?
Montolivo?!
Amazing. HH
