Martial is France's True Secret Weapon for Euro Success
He's still overpriced because nobody is worth that much cheddar. But for what he did for United this season, and at his age and also his football performances, this right here is an important key in helping France to become European champions.
It seems as if Deschamps is going to start with Martial on the bench and instead look to Griezmann and Payet to play just behind Giroud in a three-pronged attack. Whilst that ain't bad, I have to say that if Martial is fit, he simply has to start. I don't care whether it's ahead of Payet or Griezmann, although even if he's been great for Atletico this season, I would say Antoine should make way.
Martial might be the best attacker that France have and I'm not exaggerating. Apart from his physical prowess of the speed and quickness that he has, the dude is a great dribbler, is smart when making runs and combining with players and also a very good finisher. He has all the attributes needed to make a real impact at these Euros and Deschamps must start him.
Keeping in mind that Giroud (eeesh) is going to be the starter and he's know for his link-up play. I think Martial is far better to play with him because he's quicker than Griezmann as well as being a better dribbler. Payet gives you something that neither Griezmann or Martial has so he should start. However, the boy from United will cause so much of a rawkus in defences if he's unleashed by Deschamps.
Looking at all the players, he is the one that would be my pick for player of the tournament if he's given the opportunities. He has been very impressive for United and pretty much single-handedly got them to fifth. It's frightening to think what would happen if he United had never bought him and where they would have finished.
Didier needs to believe in this kid and play him. He doesn't have to start him against Romania but he's got to play an important role and I hope that when given his chance he takes it and forces Didier to start with him for as long as they're in the tournament. HH
